Conor McGregor had a live studio audience in fits of laughter after swearing on TV while appearing on FOX News.

The UFC superstar is currently in America where he has been filming in Las Vegas for the UFC's latest series of The Ultimate Fighter alongside upcoming rival Michael Chandler. The pair have been competing in the coaching part of the competition, with McGregor then set to meet Chandler in the octagon after nearly two years out of action.

Since announcing his return, McGregor has become a more prominent figure in the UFC world again attending Jon Jones' recent win over Cyril Gane at UFC 285. During his time in the US yesterday, McGregor made an appearance on live TV when he went on FOX News' Hannity show in front of a live studio audience.

McGregor announced while on air that he would be making a mega $1million donation to charity Tunnel to Towers - an organisation set up to help the families of the emergency responders who died during the 9/11 attacks in the US. While saluting the CEO of the organisation Frank Siller, the Irishman made a blunder while live on air.

He shouted just seconds after being announced as a guest on the show: "Frank, I'm honoured to support you. I wanted to say, your brother Stephen is a f***ing -- excuse me, is a hero. He's a hero. You're a hero." The studio audience were sent into raptures of laughter with McGregor cheekily grinning at the host who joined in laughing with the onlookers.

He quickly issued an apology: "I would have to curse on Fox. I apologise. I apologise." However host Sean Hannity quickly dismissed the error, adding: "Don't worry about it. It's the one place you can! You had it right the first time!" It was another charitable donation from McGregor who has helped raise $3.7million for the organisation during his career.

One of the reasons McGregor burst to stardom in the UFC was his brash and straight-talking personality which has seen him develop some iconic rivalries for his cage career. He will now be making a comeback to the octagon after nearly two years out when he takes on Chandler.

It was said his latest rivalry turned nasty while filming for the series stateside, but he has since played down the clash insisting him and Chandler resolved the issues. “I had respect for (Michael) Chandler [before TUF 31] – we had an issue, right,” McGregor told Barstool Sports. “Obviously, tempers are flaring – it’s a f***ing hostile thing.

"I like his style, he likes my style, we have a good little buzz. There’s still competitive fire – I’m still gonna mince him. I know he’s gonna try and throw everything into his shots also. But there’s still admiration – that’s how it should be. That’s how sport should be, you should have the ability to separate it."
