Juventus and Barcelona met close to Milan (in Como) with the aim of discussing the sale of the Frenchman Paul Pogba, although they did not find an understanding. The Italians left with the complicated selling premise of not wanting to get rid of the player, who is considered even more important than ever in Turin with Andrea Pirlo set to leave for New York.

“The mood of the meeting was very good, terrific, but we did not reach an agreement for Pogba with Barca. We received an offer of €80m but I can say that Juve do not want to sell Pogba,” said Juve’s managing director Beppe Marotta after the meeting with Barça’s emissaries.

Barcelona’s sporting director, Ariedo Braida, and Marotta were present at the meeting. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Barcelona’s €80m offer involves incorporating into their ranks from July 1, 2016. Barça have put the same amount on the table as Manchester City, although the English club want to recruit him immediately
