Rayo president, Raúl Martín Presa visited AS yesterday and discussed plans for the 2015-16 campaign amidst the interest in the new season shirts.

Raúl Martín Presa, Rayo Vallecano president along with Director General, Luis Yáñez, visited the AS offices yesterday evening and discussed their plans for the club for the season ahead: “It’s time to construct a new Rayo. We want to stand by people and help in any way we can with social issues”.

Both representatives from the club were accompanied by the Copa del Rey Juvenil (U-18) which Rayo won for the first time for their history in dramatic fashion Saturday last. They also brought along samples of the new 2015-16 shirts which were earlier presented to the assembled media at Vallecas and were causing a stir in social media platforms during the day. The present and the future.

The present reflected in the new second and third playing shirts which will see a quantity (7€ and 5€ respectively) of each sale being destined to social causes. “We wanted to take advantage of the communicative power that football holds to do something extra. Rayo are a club who like to take risks”, commented Presa. At the same time, the trophy represents a promising future for the youth system of the club: “We want to instill the positive values of football and sport to children, we’re proud of our achievement with our youth system and with our women’s team which is fantastic, when you consider that the budget allocated isn’t even as much as a million euro”, added the president.

Rayo Vallecano now face their fifth consecutive season in La Liga, the best top flight record in the club’s history. “Over four years ago the club was in the dumps, but by bit, we’ve managed to address the problems and the future looks brighter”, affirmed Martín Presa.

A good time for the club with their policy of signing based on loan deals and free agents. “Having to start each season from scratch is the norm now”, commented Yáñez: “Rayo has become a great shop window for players”.
