Danilo has arrived in Madrid. The Brazilian full-back arrived at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport just after midday on Wednesday, after a long flight from São Paulo. He will be officially presented by Real Madrid in the VIP lounge at the Santiago Bernabéu on Thursday. The club have yet to announce a time for the presentation although Danilo’s arrival has generated great expectation in the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid and Porto reached an agreement for Danilo at the beginning of March. The Spanish side will pay Porto 30 million euros for the player (the same figure they paid for Pepe in 2007) and once he has passed his medical revision, the right-back will sign a six-year contract with Madrid. He is expected to earn a take-home salary of two million euros – almost triple what he earned at Porto.
