The Egypt star continues to impress in his debut campaign at Anfield, and his latest challenge sees him challenge an African great

Mohamed Salah’s scintillating season at Liverpool will see him equal another record should he find the back of the net against Crystal Palace in Saturday’s English Premier League encounter.

The Egypt winger is a goal short of the Premier League record for most goals scored in a season by an African player.

Chelsea and Cote d’Ivoire legend Didier Drogba holds that record after scoring 29 goals to help the Blues to the top-flight diadem in the 2009-10 campaign.

Salah, on 28 goals, is in form at the moment, having registered 10 goals in his last seven league appearances, including four in the Kops’ demolition of Watford just before the international break.

The former Roma star leads the league scorers’ chart with 28 goals, four more than second-placed Harry Kane.

Also, a player who would fancy getting on the scoresheet against the Eagles at Selhurst Park is Salah’s attack partner, Sadio Mane.

The Senegal forward has scored four goals in the seven times he has faced the London outfit.

With Salah eyeing Drogba’s record and Mane hoping to continue his onslaught, Jurgen Klopp will hope the African duo combine to devastating effect to gift him a victory in his 100th Premier League game in charge of the Anfield outfit.
