TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Two FSU softball players have been selected in the National Pro Fastpitch draft on Monday during the Noles' game against Louisville.

Pitcher Kyle Hanson was taken with the fifth overall pick by the Cleveland Comets, while infielder Jessie Warren was taken with the seventh overall pick by the USSA Pride.

Hanson, a grad-transfer from FAU, has logged a 22-3 record with a 0.90 ERA in 24 games started. Hanson paces the ACC in ERA, is second in the league in wins and is third in the league in strikeouts (173).

While at FAU, Hanson pitched three full seasons before having season-ending surgery after just six games in 2017. She went 59-20 with a 1.21 ERA in 97 career games with the Owls, striking out 667 batters and held opposing hitters to a .177 average.

Warren, in 39 games for the Noles, has posted a .368 batting average and 43 RBI, a mark that is tied for the team lead with Sydney Sherrill. The senior infielder has committed just six errors on the season, and has cracked a team-best 11 home runs.

This is the second year two FSU players have been selected in the draft. Last year, Jessica Burroughs (first overall, USSSA Pride) and Alex Powers (10th overall, USSSA Pride) were selected.

Last year, USSSA went 40-9, but fell to the now-defunct Scrap Yard Dawgs in the title series.

The Comets, who rebranded this past off season from the Akron Racers, finished in third place in the league, going 26-24, and fell to the Scrap Yard Dawgs in the first round of the playoffs.

The NPF season starts on May 19.
