SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It’s that time of year again. Along with our warmer weather, comes the threat of severe storms.

That’s why the city of Sioux Falls is partnering with Minnehaha County to test tornado sirens on Wednesday morning at 10:15.

“These are outdoor warning sirens. If you’re in your house, you probably won’t hear them. With the new construction, and you know, the insulation properties, the sound just does not get through, so they’re not designed for that.”

That’s why it’s so important to have a weather radio and to pay attention to the forecast.

Another good option is our KELOLAND Stormtracker App.

It’s free, and you can set it up to send you alerts whenever severe weather is headed your way.
