OAKLAND – After the Warriors’ series-clinching Game 5 win over San Antonio on Wednesday, Draymond Green was asked for his thoughts on some recent drama that happened off of the court.

Mike Shumann, a TV anchor for ABC7/KGO TV, was allegedly caught on camera taking a jacket that belonged to Warriors’ director of team security, Ralph Walker, as Shumann exited AT&T Center in San Antonio last week.

“Obviously, it’s unfortunate,” said Green, who hadn’t seen the video. “I think, you know, what it boils down to is it’s a jacket but I think it’s more so the principle. You’re in your own space and you want to return your jacket, and all of us do, so I think it’s more so the principle than the actual thing.

“Like, you know, if I got a dollar sitting here, it’s a dollar, but it’s my dollar. I wouldn’t expect nobody to take it. That’s an unfortunate situation.”

According to The Athletic, several Warriors players were upset about the incident. Shumann was not part of KGO’s postgame coverage in Game 4 on Sunday.

“We are taking these allegations very seriously and conducting a full investigation. As a matter of policy, we do not comment about personnel matters,” a spokesman for the station said Monday.

Shumann is a former receiver with the San Francisco 49ers. He was with the team when they won their first Super Bowl in 1981.
