Not ready for prime time. For the most part.

That’s what the NFL decided Thursday about the New York Giants and New York Jets.

When the 2022 regular season schedule was released, both of MetLife Stadium’s residents found out they were given just one prime-time game. Which makes sense, since both franchises are coming off embarrassing 4-13 seasons.

The Giants will host the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football in Week 3.

The Jets will host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football in Week 16.

According to Pro Football Focus’ Ari Meirov, the other teams with just one prime-time appearance in 2022 are the Jaguars, Houston Texans, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons.

But it could be worse: the Detroit Lions are not scheduled for any prime-time games.

At the opposite end of the spectrum are the Philadelphia Eagles, who are one of 13 teams with a league-max five prime-time dates.

- Week 2 vs. the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football

- Week 6 vs. the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football

- Week 9 vs. the Texans on Thursday Night Football

- Week 10 vs. the Washington Commanders (MNF)

- Week 12 vs. the Green Bay Packers (SNF)

The other teams with five prime-time games in 2022 are the Cowboys, Packers, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs.
