Enzo Maresca has admitted his Leicester City side have some injury doubts ahead of their Championship clash with Plymouth.

The City boss did not reveal who may miss out against the Pilgrims on Saturday, only saying that their issues were not serious. Decisions will be made on their fitness after Friday’s session.

The only two players who are definitely out are Callum Doyle and Ricardo Pereira. The former is training again after knee surgery in September, but is not yet back in full sessions, while the latter is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season.

“We have some doubts,” Maresca said at his press conference on Friday afternoon. “Nothing serious. We are going to use today’s session to verify. But I think we’re going to be alright.” Asked if he could name those who are doubts, Maresca replied: “Not yet.”

On Doyle, he added: “He’s started to do some sessions outside, but not with us. I think he still needs time. He’s progressing very well.”

In Ricardo’s absence, Hamza Choudhury is expected to play, having stepped into the Portuguese’s role for cup games, and when Maresca has rotated. The manager said the homegrown midfielder would probably deputise again.

“When Ricardo is not playing, we are using Hamza there,” he said. “Probably it will be Hamza. Compared to the last time, when I said Hamza is going to play (in place of Harry Winks against Watford), we still have some doubts and different options. We’ll see. But when Hamza plays in that position, he does very well, so we can use him.”
