Atlético Madrid will hit the training ground at the crack of dawn on Saturday in Los Ángeles de San Rafael to complete their training schedule. Simeone has spent the week working on tactical tweaks and will continue to try out different scenarios as he looks to shape his squad for the season ahead.
On Friday El Cholo took Koke out of the defensive midfielder role and employed him on the wing in a team made up of Juanfran, Velázquez, Monsalve, Siqueira, Carrasco, Gabi, Tiago, Koke, Vietto and Griezmann. New-boy Carrasco also featured and showed off some of his sulky skills, much to the delight of a crowd of onlookers. After Saturday’s session the Atleti squad will be given a day and a half off to rest.
Next week will also see the return of Copa América participants Godín, Giménez, Raúl Jiménez and Jackson Martínez.
