Atlético de Madrid have reached an initial agreement with Chelsea to recoup left-back Filipe Luis. The Brazilian will return to the Vicente Calderón for 15 million euros but first Atlético must find an outlet for the player who currently fills the role, Guilherme Siqueira.
The Colchoneros’ plan is to offload Siqueira, on the one hand to partly fund the transfer of Filipe Luis and also to leave a margin within the payroll to FIFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations
Filipe, who was keen to return back to Atlético, has offered to take a sizeable pay cut in a goodwill gesture to the Spanish side for the efforts they have made in negotiating with Chelsea, who clearly stated that if any deal were to go through, it would be a straight transfer and not a loan.
