FC Barcelona issued a communique as a response to the sanction which  they were awarded by the Anti Violence Commission yesterday. The club deem "unacceptable" the fine of 6.000 euro for permissiveness whilst the national anthem was being whistled and will also appeal against the 60.000 euro fine for failing to comply with certain security criteria.

The official communiqué reads as follows:

“FC Barcelona deem that the 6.000 euro fine issued by the Anti Violence Commission for political expression of supporters before the Copa del Rey final both unjust and unacceptable.

FC Barcelona openly and strongly rejects the decision made by the Commission and announce that they will embark using all legal means to annul the economic sanction.

Once again, FC Barcelona points out that they will always defend the right of expression which all supporters and club members hold. The events at the Camp Nou are a reflection of a sentiment, which was not pre-planned or channeled by the club but one which Barça respects as was pointed out during the initial allegations.

As regards the other fine of 60.000 euro for an alleged failure to comply with security criteria, the club will also fight to overrule this sanction.
