In the first few seconds of winning the NBA title, the Golden State Warriors team was like a group of children. After being tricky opponents for the teams they faced over the past few months they hugged each other whilst some players looked to the sky and others just fell to their knees overcome with emotion. This is the first breath of victory, an impulsive reaction that comes after overcoming a huge mental and physical challenge. These Warriors from Oakland or ‘The Dubs’ as they are known are the NBA champions thanks to a blend of ethics and esthetics, rarely seen on a basketball court. It’s the triumph of an idea, the triumph of modern basketball…mixed with tradition: the collective. Before anyone can take anything away from them by pointing to absence through injury in the Cavs team, it has to be pointed out that the Warriors overcame an almost inhuman phenomenon in LeBron James. James has shown us this season and indeed in the play-offs that he is one of the best players in the game of all time.
Golden State Warriors are the 2014/15 NBA Champions and deservedly so. Their season has been historic and one that will be talked about for year to come. Congratulations
