Hard to fathom how something like this could happen:
No. 81 in a Patriots jersey is, of course, the late Aaron Hernandez, who hasn’t played football since January 2013. Hernandez was arrested for murder in 2013, convicted on those charges in 2015 and sentenced to a life sentence. He was found hanged in his cell last year. His brain showed a severe case of CTE, unprecedented for someone of his age.
