Rhode Island and Duquesne put on an Atlantic 10 show to remember on Saturday afternoon, and Rams senior Stanford Robinson provided a fitting ending with a game-winning three as time expired:

After the Dukes took a six-point lead into halftime, Rhode Island’s undefeated A-10 record was looking a little shaky.
But E.C. Matthews put the Rams on his back in the final 10 minutes of the game, tying it all up at 49 points apiece on a layup with 5:21 and then lifting Rhody to a six-point lead with 2:47 to go. Things looked great for Matthews and the Rams.

Yet Duquesne, having a surprisingly great year, fought back in the final two and a half minutes and, with 0:28 on the clock, knotted it all up at 58-58.
Which, of course, led to Robinson’s epic three for the win. It was Robinson’s first three all game, and just the Rams’ fourth of the afternoon on a day when they couldn’t find any consistency from deep.
That is, until it mattered most.
