Spurs to face Pelicans without Gasol
SAN ANTONIO - The Spurs have downgraded center Pau Gasol from doubtful to out for tonight's game against the Pelicans and their All-Star big man Anthony Davis.
Gasol apparently suffered the injury on Sunday in the win over the Cavaliers in Cleveland. The 7-foot Spaniard contributed 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists in the 110-94 victory.
Gasol's absence could mean more minutes tonight for backup center Joffrey Lauvergne.
In 58 games this season, Gasol is averaging 10.7 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists.
