The Richmond Spiders will square off against the Wofford Terriers at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. Richmond will be hoping to build upon the 77-72 win they picked up against Wofford when they previously played in December of last year.
The Spiders ended up a good deal behind the Mississippi State Bulldogs when they played this past Saturday, losing 82-71. Richmond's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of guard Jacob Gilyard, who had 17 points and six assists in addition to six steals, and forward Tyler Burton, who had 23 points along with seven boards.
Meanwhile, Wofford narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Georgia Bulldogs 68-65. Wofford got double-digit scores from four players: guard Max Klesmit (17), forward B.J. Mack (16), guard Ryan Larson (11), and forward Sam Godwin (10).
Barring any buzzer beaters, Richmond is expected to win a tight contest. Now might not be the best time to take the Spiders against the spread since they've let down bettors for the past two consecutive games.
Wofford's victory lifted them to 5-2 while Richmond's loss dropped them down to 3-4. We'll see if the Terriers can repeat their recent success or if Richmond bounces back and reverse their fortune.
