Through 3 Quarters

Both the Washington Wizards and the Sacramento Kings suffered losses in their previous contests, but the Wizards are closer to making up for it. It's still tight after three quarters, with Washington leading 89-84.

Shooting guard Bradley Beal has led the way so far for Washington, as he has 25 points and four assists in addition to four boards. Sacramento has been led by center Tristan Thompson, who so far has 15 points along with four rebounds.

Sacramento has lost 93% of the time when they were down heading into the fourth quarter this year, so this one seems just about wrapped up

What to Know

The Washington Wizards are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Sacramento Kings at 10 p.m. ET Dec. 15 at Golden 1 Center. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

The Wizards were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 113-107 to the Denver Nuggets. Washington was down 91-70 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. Despite the loss, they had strong showings from small forward Davis Bertans, who shot 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and finished with 21 points and five rebounds, and point guard Aaron Holiday, who had 18 points in addition to six boards. Holiday had some trouble finding his footing against the Utah Jazz on Saturday, so this was a step in the right direction. Holiday's points were the most he has had all season.

Meanwhile, a win for Sacramento just wasn't in the stars on Monday as the team never even grasped a temporary lead. They suffered a grim 124-101 defeat to the Toronto Raptors. Sacramento was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 70-45. The losing side was boosted by point guard De'Aaron Fox, who had 29 points.

Barring any buzzer beaters, Washington is expected to win a tight contest. Those sticking with them against the spread have guts, to put it politely, as the squad has let down bettors in their past six games.

Washington had enough points to win and then some against the Kings when the two teams previously met in April, taking their game 123-111. Will the Wizards repeat their success, or does Sacramento have a better game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
