A case can be made for a few of these, but Tamaska arrives on the up and is weighted to complete a hat-trick under a 5lb penalty for his recent Yarmouth success.

Course scorer Parys Mountain is feared most on the back of his Catterick win, with Bringitonboris and Helm Rock shortlisted too.

National Gallery is worth another chance in handicaps off this mark given the form of his maiden win.

Fiach Mchugh has made an excellent start to the season and remains of interest, while Torn shaped as if needing her comeback and remains with potential.

PREVIEW - 5.23 Musselburgh

A tough-looking, low grade sprint handicap with none of them in any winning form. Lord Of The Glen won this race last year and is near enough at that mark again this year, despite winning four runs back at Newcastle. The Gloaming has won twice here and she usually runs here. She might be the answer off her last winning mark.

Aquamas, one of the best-backed horses of the day couldn't get near his favoured prominent position and never looked like winning. Cragside looked to have the race won inside the last furlong but Yaaser, who had been held up came through late to win it. Tacitus ran on from further back in third.

Ben Curtis injured at Haydock

In our second race here (2.00), jockey Ben Curtis was injured in a strange incident aboard Skycutter. His mount had been slowly away but had started to make eye-catching ground on the outside and Curtis tried to urge him further into the race with his whip.

However, as the jockey rotated his shoulder it appeared to dislocate, causing him to drop his whip and be unable to assist his mount in the closing stages. He finished in a (very painful) eighth and was stood down for the rest of the day.

PREVIEW: 4:42 York

Some untapped potential on show, but Golden Voice looks to have got in lightly for his handicap debut and is fancied to follow up his ready Newcastle maiden success.

Blenheim Boy is feared most on the back of his easy Ripon victory, although it would come as no surprise to see Charlie Appleby's Maplewood take a big step forward on his handicap debut.

Kingmania was given a strange ride when running here recently but wasn’t beaten that far considering he was last entering the closing stages. He is still 6lbs above his last winning mark but that might not stop him if he has come on for his run last time. Ascot Adventure showed a lot more when fourth in a good race at Doncaster and could well win this if showing the same form. Watch out too for Gavin Cromwell’s runner Earls, who has mainly run over shorter but - on second run for this trainer - could get involved now.

The pick of several appealing candidates could be Level Up, who went agonisingly close to a first career success when touched off by Angle Land on the all-weather at Lingfield last time.

He performed well on both visits here as a 2-y-o, which augurs well.

Sir Henry Cotton has done little wrong since returning to action in February and should be in the thick of things once again, while recent Wolverhampton scorer Bonita B, Income and Mr Beaufort are others to consider.

Aquamas looked to have a good chunk left in hand when winning here last time - his second win in a month - and he should prove very popular here for Michael Dods. Cragside showed an improvement at Wetherby when finishing second and could be dangerous but there is no guarantee he’ll follow that up (little show in six other runs.) Rain Cap has won and finished third here previously and could get in the money.

Lil Guff scoots clear and wins well. Gidwa was almost two lengths back in second with a whole heap of runners fighting it out for third with True Jem getting minor honours.
