Middlesbrough are looking for their first win of the season at the fourth time of asking as they travel to Stoke City this evening.

Despite many positives to take from all three previous games to this point, Boro have just two points on the table so far and manager Chris Wilder is determined to get that monkey off the back sooner rather than later.

Stoke could be the ideal opportunity as a side who've lost two of their opening three games. While still a team who will hope to push towards the top half of the table, not many are tipping Michael O'Neill's side to be contenders this term.

Stoke level. Wilder's head in his hands. Boro fail to clear their lines, ball goes back in and Wright-Phillips is free in between Dijksteel and Jones to head home from close range.

Huge let off for Boro

Brown forces a save out of Steffen but Baker follows it up. He should score with the goal at his mercy but he puts it wide.

GOAL: Boro 2-1, Watmore (64 mins)

Boro ahead. Great play as Boro work it from right to left with Giles eventually getting in, delivering a lovely low cross that ends in the back of the net. Watmore credited with it. Hard from replay to tell if it was his or an own goal. But who cares? Boro lead!

Bola so close!

Bola advances and plays a lovely one-two with McGree and breaks in from wide left. Tries the right-footed curler and Bursik makes an excellent save to tip it round the post.

Spurned McGree chance!

Howson with an excellent ball over the top, McNair runs onto it and is wide right of the box, he pulls it back to McGree who has time and space in the area but he fires his effort high and wide. Waste.

Michael Salisbury

Stoke is not the best ground to upset the away fans. The tunnel is right by the corner where all the Boro fans are. As he leaves the pitch, those 1,300+ Boro fans make clear what they think about him after that Jones decision in the build-up to Stoke's opener.

Wilder was clearly hanging around to have a word too, but heading into the tunnel out of sight of the Boro fans and us to do so.
