The Austrian town of Kitzbuhel always gets awesome ATP action every year post Wimbledon and this time it looks to be no different. Day three is supposed to be action packed with all eight Round of 16 matches scheduled. As ever, we at LWOT preview and predict all eight matches spread across two articles for you.

ATP Kitzbuhel Day 3 Predictions

Daniel Altmaier vs Daniel Elahi Galan

Head to head – Altmaier 0-1 Galan

Both players enter this match in middling form and neither player has shown that they can prove to be a dark horse this week. Daniel Altmaier did upset Andrey Rublev last week in Hamburg but he struggled in his first round match while Daniel Elahi Galan did well to wrap up his first round match fairly quickly. Expect a slugfest between the two with German just scraping by on the back of his consistency.
Prediction: Altmaier in 3

Roberto Carballes Baena vs Sebastian Baez

Head to head – First Meeting

Sebastian Baez won his first match since Eastbourne back in almost a month ago while Robert Carballes Baena won just his second match since Wimbledon. Both these players love to hang back on the base line and try to construct points before being aggressive which makes this match a typical long rally match. That being said, the Spaniard has a slightly better serve than the Argentine and that may prove decisive in deciding the winner of this match.
Prediction: Carballes Baena in 3

Alex Molcan vs Sebastian Ofner

Head to head – First Meeting

Alex Molcan was yet to win a match since mid-June but that curse has now been broken in Kitzbuhel. The Slovak will have his work cut out against Sebastian Ofner who looks in decent nick since Wimbledon. The Austrian will also look for home support throughout this week to help him overcome tight situations. Expect Molcan to be outplayed by a player who looks confident in his game at the moment.
Prediction: Molcan in 2

Pedro Cachin vs Albert Ramos-Vinolas

Head to head – Cachin 1-0 Ramos-Vinolas

This should be a very tight contest and is a must watch encounter on day three. It is a repeat of the final of this year’s Swiss Open and it will be interesting to see whether the Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas is able to turn the tables. Pedro Cachin will be well aware of the court craft of the Spaniard at this level and the Argentine will look to be aggressive when he can. Expect a hotly contested affair once again with the Argentine just having a little advantage in his ability to finish points.
Prediction: Cachin in 3
