After being released eight times after entering the NFL as an undrafted rookie in 2020, Carter made his regular-season debut on Oct. 1 when the Titans elevated the Alabama alumnus from their practice squad for a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In a 27-3 victory, Carter had 11 defensive snaps and 11 special-teams plays and registered one tackle.

Carter originally joined Tennessee on Dec. 30, 2021, as a member of the practice squad, where he had spent his in-season time with the team until Saturday.

A prep standout at Murphy in Mobile, Stallworth just joined the Titans as a practice squad member on Monday.

Tennessee is Stallworth’s third NFL team this year. The Houston Texans released him after he sustained a hamstring injury in the offseason program. He went through training camp and the preseason with Carolina before starting the season on the Panthers’ practice squad. Released by Carolina, Stallworth re-signed with Houston for practice-squad duty but was released on Oct. 7.

Stallworth has played in 57 NFL regular-season games with four teams since joining the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted rookie in 2018.

Carter joins the active roster with defensive back Elijah Molden sidelined for Sunday’s game because of a hamstring injury.

Two of the Titans’ defensive tackles – Jeffery Simmons and Teair Tart – missed practice time this week because of injuries, and another, Denico Autry, was limited by a finger injury.

The Titans waived cornerback Kindle Vildor and offensive lineman Justin Murray to make room on the active roster for Carter and Stallworth.

Tennessee and Baltimore kick off at 8:30 a.m. CDT Sunday. NFL Network will televise the game.
