Bolivia defeated Peru 2-0 and left the last place in the Conmebol Qualifiers [VIDEO]

Hace un año

Bolivia was superior to Peru and beat them 2-0, at the Hernando Siles stadium, on Date 5 of the South American Qualifiers.

With goals from Henry and Ramiro Vaca, Bolivia achieved its first victory in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers by beating Peru 2-0, which fell from penultimate to last place, a crisis that could cost coach Juan Reynoso his job.

The Green came out of the basement and in a castling position now occupies ninth position, with three integers, while the Bicolor is in the basement with one.

Henry put Bolivia ahead, on whose bench Brazilian Antonio Carlos made his official debut, in the 19th minute. And three minutes from the end of regulation time Ramiro put the icing on the cake.

The duel against Peru was also the last in La Paz for Bolivia’s historic scorer Marcelo Martins Moreno, who a few days ago announced that he would leave La Verde after the sixth round of the tie.

Goal number 20 was a relief for the green team, which put together plays with greater confidence thanks to Ramiro Vaca and Roberto Fernández, while Peru barely put pressure on the Bolivian defense.

At the end of the first half, a header from Gianluca Lapadula could have sent both teams to the locker room with a tie, but goalkeeper Guillermo Viscarra caught the shot from Cagliari’s Italian striker.

Peru began the second half determined to seek equality and advanced in its ranks, but with some spaces in defense that allowed Bolivia to counterattack.

The Peruvian team Juan Reynoso sent the historic forward Paolo Guerrero to replace Gianluca Lapadula, while Zago reinforced his brand in the midfield with the entry of Moisés Villarroel.

In the 75th minute Martins Moreno left the field amidst the applause of the Bolivian public.

At the end of the match, Ramiro Vaca scored Bolivia’s second goal, which was validated after verification of the previous play by the VAR.

On the sixth date that will be played on November 21, Bolivia will visit Uruguay and Peru will be at home against Venezuela.

Preview

At 15:00 Lima time, Bolivia vs. Perú open the fifth matchday of the 2026 South American qualifiers at the Hernando Siles stadium in La Paz. The Peruvian National Team is going for its first win in these Qualifiers 2026. In a duel valid for matchday 5, the ‘Bicolor’ faces Bolivia at the Hernando Siles Stadium in La Paz. The team coached by Juan Reynoso will present several changes compared to the last match against Argentina.

Pedro Gallese, Aldo Corzo, Carlos Zambrano, Alexander Callens, Marcos Lopez, Renato Tapia, Yoshimar Yotun, Piero Quispe, Franco Zanelatto, Joao Grimaldo and Gianluca Lapadula. This is Juan Reynoso’s starting line-up for the match against La Verde at the Hernando Siles stadium in La Paz at 15:00 Lima time.

After losing 2-0 at the National Stadium in Lima against Argentina, the Peruvian national team coached by Juan Máximo Reynoso has only 1 point and is in the penultimate position in the standings. La Blanquirroja urgently needs a victory in the Altiplano or else it will be relegated in the fight for the first six places and also the seventh, which corresponds to the play-offs. For this game against Bolivia, Peru will once again count on striker Gianluca Lapadula in the attacking front, where he will possibly take the place of Paolo Guerrero.

Bolivia, on the other hand, has not emerged from its soccer crisis for years and the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup seem to exacerbate the debacle of the good soccer that La Verde once presented with that 1994 generation. With no draws and no victories, the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF) decided to fire Argentine coach Gustavo Costas for failing to score points in the first four qualifying rounds. His place has been taken by former Brazilian footballer Antonio Zago, who has had no practice matches to rehearse his tactics for the game against Peru.
