The Detroit Pistons continue to be one of the more active teams during this season’s NBA trade deadline. After making a pair of moves on Wednesday, ESPN reports the Pistons are acquiring Danuel House Jr. from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for a 2024 second-round pick (via New York Knicks).
With this latest acquistion by Detroit, there are now 17 players on the Pistons roster, which points to another transaction of some sort on the horizon.
House entered the NBA in 2016 as an undrafted free agent, having played collegiately at Houston (2012-2014) and Texas A&M (2014-2016).
Besides the 2019-2020 season, where he started 52 of 63 games with the Houston Rockets, House has predominantly played in a reserve role. In that season, he averaged a career-high 10.5 on 43% shooting from the field and 4.2 rebounds.
Overall, House averages 7.3 points, three rebounds and is a respectable 36% from three-point range. While it’s unclear if the Pistons hold on to him, he serves as another guard that can provide the Pistons with spacing and depth at the wing.
House has also had stints with New York Knicks and Utah Jazz.
On Wednesday, Pistons acquired Simone Fontecchio from the Utah Jazz and followed it up by acquiring Shake Milton, Troy Brown Jr. from the Minnesota Timberwolves for Flint native Monte Morris.
