Marko Arnautovic will become an Inter Milan player on a permanent basis if the team manages to register a win or a draw against Roma this weekend.
The Austrian returned to the Nerazzurri for a second spell last summer. He completed a loan move from Bologna with an obligation to buy on certain conditions.
But as Calcio e Finanza explains, the “condition” stated in the agreement between the two clubs is rather inevitable.
The two parties had agreed that the veteran’s permanent switch would be triggered once Inter earn a league point after the 5th of February 2024.
Therefore, Inter will activate the buy-clause next time they manage to earn a win or a draw in Serie A.
Inter and Bologna were obviously keen on finalizing the transfer by placing such a certain stipulation.
The transfer should cost the Serie A leaders around 8 million euros in total.

This season, Arnautovic has only contributed with two goals and as many assists in 22 appearances across all competitions.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi considers him an understudy for Marcus Thuram who managed to strike a brilliant partnership with club captain Lautaro Martinez.
In the meantime, the well-traveled Austrian has been struggling to prove his worth since making his return to the club.
Aside from a few glimpses of brilliance, the former West Ham striker couldn’t quite leave a significant impact.
So while his move to Inter will inevitably become permanent, his future at the club remains uncertain.
