How is the team after the defeat to Brazil last night?
They are good despite the result. The team played with plenty of confidence. We took the game to Brazil and made life hard for one of the best teams in the world. This will gave us added confidence despite ending up last night’s game empty handed.
What do you need to do to qualify for the next round?
Now we have to beat South Korea. It’s what we had anticipated before the tournament started. We did however; hope to beat Costa Rica as we knew Brazil would be difficult. We have one throw of the dice left basically.
Are you confident of making it through to the next round?
Without a doubt. We were sure that we’d need to get a result in the last game and that’s the way it’s turned out. We now just need to focus on this game and get into the best possible shape.
What do you expect from South Korea?
It’s going to be a final. Both teams have so much to play for so they’ll be up for the game too. We’re both similar teams. They too took the game to Brazil, they goals they conceded came from silly errors. We have no fear, just respect. We just need to play our game and if we can do that, then I’m confident we’ll make it through
How is the squad?
They’re fine. They’re not down as they were after the Costa Rica game. We knew we deserved more than a draw from that game. Against Brazil, we played well and the general sensation was better. We’ve been in Canada for longer now and are in a better mental frame of mind. We knew that we needed to be 100% ready for the Brazil game and we certainly will be for the game against South Korea.
