SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Missouri State University shared its final video Friday of the dynamic duo, Clif Smart and Boomer the Bear. The two have been featured in many videos posted by MSU during Smart’s time as president.
“This isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later. Clif and Gail Smart, thank you for your incredible leadership and unwavering dedication. Enjoy every moment as you ride off into the sunset together,” the post on Facebook says.
Smart served as the 11th president of Missouri State since June 27, 2011. He announced his retirement in September 2023.

“I am humbled by the honor and excited by the opportunity to lead Missouri State University toward a future where innovation, collaboration, and excellence define our educational journey,” said Williams.
