El pasado Jueves 18

Claims Trump was attending a UFC fight after being shot spread like wildfire on social media, including a video a user claimed showed him walking into the fight.

After former President Donald Trump was shot on Saturday at a rally in Pennsylvania, a report flooded social media that he was going to travel to Denver, Colorado, to attend a UFC fight.

Trump spoke out directly to his supporters after the shooting through a Truth Social post informing them that he was okay. He also thanked Secret Service and law enforcement for their quick reaction, expressed condolences for the people who were killed and injured and said he would still be going to Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention.

Shortly after the shooting, people started speculating that Trump was going to attend the UFC fight in Denver that night.

"If Trump is genuinely headed to the UFC event tonight, after taking a bullet, you will be able to register the crowd reaction to his walk-in on the Richter scale," Clint Russell, host of the Liberty Lockdown podcast wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Elon Musk commented that it would be "next level."

The Claim

Kyle Becker, an independent journalist, posted on X that Trump announced he would be at Saturday's UFC fight. Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, also posted on X that he saw reports Trump would be at the UFC fight with UFC president Dana White. Posts on X claiming Trump was attending the fight garnered millions of views.

One person also posted a video of Trump walking with White into the UFC arena.

The Facts

When Trump was shot, White was on a plane to Italy and was not attending the UFC fight in Colorado. Trump's motorcade also left the hospital around 9 p.m., making it impossible for him to get to Colorado in time for a 10 p.m. fight.

"I am absolutely SICK to my stomach and in complete shock," White posted on Instagram. "I hope the weak coward that shot him gets what he deserves, and I can't WAIT to stand up on stage with him on Thursday and introduce him at the Republican National Convention and tell the WORLD exactly the character of the friend and man I KNOW!!"

In a subsequent post on X, Kirk noted that the reports of Trump attending the fight were "false." A campaign source also confirmed to the New York Post that Trump would not be attending the fight.

The video posted was also not from Friday—but was taken in March when he attended a fight.

At the start of the fight, Trump was not seen at the venue.

Newsweek reached out to the Trump campaign for comment but did not receive a response in time for publication.

The Ruling

False

False.

Due to claims that Trump was at the UFC were since corrected to be labeled "false" and Trump not being seen at the fight when it started, it is safe to say he is not attending the fight.
