Welcome back to Big Will Bets: Weekend Winners and no one in the world is as hot as us right now. Back to back 4-1 weeks to end the college football regular season. Now, I’m not a math guy, but I did have a math guy reach out to me to tell me I’m 80% in my last two weeks. This is huge if true. With the small college slate, I’m going to have to venture out of my comfort zone and add in a few extra NFL picks, but I love a challenge and I can’t wait to take this one on! Now, let’s jump into the picks.
Military Appreciation Double Dipper Game of the Week: #22 Army -7 vs Navy
I’m 100% (1-0) this year on my double dippers and just like last week, I think I’ve found a perfect double dipper. Most gamblers would jump on the under when Army and Navy play each other. Before a few years ago the under had hit for 17 years straight. Seems like an easy tip to give right? Yes, but you don’t come to Big Will Bets: Weekend Winners for gambling tips your grandma could give you. You come to me for the hard tips that few others can find!
I love Army in the first half at -3.5 and during the full game at -7. Army’s QB Bryson Daily is the most electric player in this game. Everything that Army has achieved this year is because of Daily. He runs the triple option to perfection and I think an argument can be made for him being the most important player to their team in the country. Just look at what happened to Army’s offense when he was hurt. Not good Bob.
I trust Daily so much that I’m betting on him and Army twice. I’m sure this won’t come back to bite me in the butt.
Army -3.5 first half and Army -7 full game.
I Think They are Really Good Game of the Week: Chargers -2.5 vs Buccaneers
This is a gut pick game for me and it has nothing to do with Tampa Bay and everything to do with LA. Jim Harbaugh has the Chargers playing good, hard-nosed football. The defense has been getting stops, and the offense runs the ball well. Through the air they are kind of a one trick pony with Ladd McConkey being their main target, but Justin Herbert can sling the rock when they are in a tight spot. I just really like the Chargers.
Now this isn’t an attack on the Bucs. Baker is back to being confident, I will do anything it takes to win Oklahoma Sooners Baker. Next to my mom, that’s the best baker. Tampa is finally getting healthier with Mike Evans and Tristan Wirfs returning to the lineup. The Bucs are in first place in the NFC South. So, the Bucs have plenty to be happy about.
I just think the Chargers have a serious chance at making some noise in the playoffs this year. They play a brand of football that translates to success no matter the weather. They have a coach that wins every place he’s been. And to top it off, they have a franchise QB that I truly do believe is special enough to win a Super Bowl. Will that be this year they win the big one? No, but I don’t think they are that far away.
Chargers -2.5.
Favorite Underdog Game of the Week: Rams +2.5 vs 49ers
I just want to be clear with everyone here: I hate both of these teams and wish that nothing good ever happens to either one of them. As a Seahawks fan, I had to get that off my chest.
With all that being said, I am terrified of the Rams. Everyone is getting healthy on the offensive side of the ball. Stafford hasn’t fallen off the old guy cliff yet. And, Jared Verse and that defense seem to have figured out how to make big stops in crucial spots. The Rams might be the hottest team in football.
The 49ers on the other hand seem to be looking at a closing Super Bowl window. Their RB room is decimated, the defense isn’t as strong as it has been in the past, and Deebo Samuel is complaining on X about the team's struggles without taking any of the blame himself. A classic sign of a team in turmoil. Take away the Bears game, and this 49ers team hasn’t looked like a playoff team this year.
This is simple, the Rams are hot and the 49ers are not. Although, I wouldn’t be too upset if I lost this one (Seahawks fan thought).
Rams +2.5.
Horsey Game of the Week: Broncos -3.5 vs Colts
This should be a great game because of how the AFC playoff race is shaking out. Right now the Broncos have the 7th and final AFC playoff spot with the Colts hot on their heels. We essentially get a playoff game in Week 15 here!
As a Bo-leiver, the bet has to be on the Broncos right? Nix is leading all rookie QBs in passing yards with 2,842 yards, passing TDs with 17, and has been sacked less than all of the other rookie QBs except Spencer Rattler (Rattler has only played in three games). Nix is now in the conversation to be the Rookie of the Year and he should be! He’s been nothing short of fantastic as the year has gone on.
Colts QB Anthony Richardson on the other hand has been a disappointment. He has a completion percentage below 48%, has only thrown for 1,511 yards, and has two more interceptions than TD passes this season. Doesn’t seem like the Colts have found their QB of the future.
I think the Broncos force multiple turnovers in this one and Bo Nix leads the Denver offense to multiple scores. Might be a blowout.
Broncos -3.5.
Grand Finale
For the first time in the history of this article series I will be taking more NFL picks than college football picks. Is this a challenge? Yes, but a challenge that I am excited to conquer! I can’t wait to shock the world and continue my hot streak!
