At 13:13 of the fourth quarter, Hauschka missed a 50-yard field goal attempt following another strong defensive stand. That gave the Patriots the ball back at the 40-yard line. That was more than enough for Brady, who connected with Lewis for his 30th touchdown of the season to give the pats a 30-16 lead.

The running back hauled in a 12-yard touchdown at 9:27 of the fourth as the Pats pulled away from the Bills.

Pats take lead

The Patriots defense stepped up on the next drive, holding the Bills to their first three-and-out of the game. The offense responded by taking a 23-16 lead following a Mike Gillislee touchdown.

Gronk was too much to handle on this drive. The tight end caught a 16-yard pass and then drew a 29-yard defensive pass interference penalty, in the end zone, to set up a first-and-goal from the 1-yardline. Gillislee did the rest, scoring with 55 seconds left in the third quarter.

Pats tie the game, 16-16

Patriots immediately responded following the Bills score. Brady opened up the drive by hitting Gronkowski (18 yards) and Brandin Cooks (14 yards) for first downs. Patriots converted on fourth-and-1 as Lewis got barely enough to move the sticks. Originally ruled short, officials overturned the call and gave Lewis a yard, after a Bill Belichick challenge.

The Pats weren’t able to take advantage of the call, failing to get in the end zone. Instead, they settled for another Gostkowski field goal, from 34 yards out, at 5:08 of the third to tie the score, 16-16.

Bills re-take lead

Hauschka gave Buffalo a 16-13 lead as the Bills opened up the second half with another scoring drive. LeSean McCoy burned the Patriots defense on this drive as he gained 39 yards on a catch and run.

The kick game at 10:21 of the third quarter.

Bills tie the game

The Patriots and Bills are tied, 13-13, as Stephen Hauschka hit a 23-yard field goal with time expiring in the half.

The Bills took it to the Patriots cornerbacks on this. First, Stephon Gilmore gave up a 15-yard catch to Kelvin Benjamin on third-and-10. Next, Malcolm Butler was beat for a 33-yard gain as Tyrod Taylor hit Deonte Thompson on third-and-2.

The Bills got down to the 4-yard, but couldn’t punch it in. Although it appeared as though Taylor hit Benjamin for a 4-yard touchdown, the officials changed the call, ruling it an incomplete pass. That’s when Hauschka tied the game.

Patriots take lead

The Patriots have taken a 13-10 lead over the Bills thanks to a 40-yard field goal by Stephon Gostkowski.

The Patriots picked up their first third down on this drive thanks to a 6-yard run by Dion Lewis. On the next play, Bills safety Micah Hyde was flagged for a 44-yard pass interference penalty while trying to cover Brandin Cooks. That put the Pats at the opposing 31-yard line. After failing to convert on third-and-2, Gostkowski came out to kick the field goal at 1:55 of the second quarter.

Gronk scores

It didn’t take the Patriots long to respond and now we’re tied, 10-10.

Tom Brady finished this drive with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski. The tight end jumped over Bills safety Micah Hyde and made an amazing 1-handed grab for the score.

Brady spread out the ball to get downfield on the drive. He hit Dwayne Allen, Kenny Britt and Mike Gillislee to get things going. On third-and-1, Brady kept the ball and picked up the first down on the QB sneak. Following a 10-yard run by Dion Lewis, Brady hit Gronk for the score at 7:06 of the second quarter.

Brady's INT gives Bills the lead

It looked like things were turning around for the Patriots. Then Tom Brady threw a pick-6 to give the Bills a 10-3 lead.

First, it started on defense. On the first play of the Bills second series, Tyrod Taylor hit Deonte Thompson for a 46-yard gain. Thompson beat Malcolm Butler on the play. That took the Bills from the 25 to the 29-yard line. Following another first down, the Bills faced a third-and-2 from the 6-yard line and the pass fell incomplete.

Going for it on fourth down, Marquis Flowers came up with a big sack on Taylor to give the Patriots a turnover on downs. Unfortunately, Brady was intercepted at 10:28 of the second quarter just three plays later. Jordan Poyer came up with the interception and ran back 19 yards for the touchdown.

Patriots tie the game

We’re tied, 3-3, thanks to a short field goal by Stephon Gostkowski.

Patriots came out moving on their second drive. Faced with a third-and-6, Tom Brady hit Danny Amendola for 13 yards. Dion Lewis added a 13-yard run of his own to get the offense near midfield. Next, Brady hit Phillip Dorsett for a 24-yard gain. Soon enough, the Patriots were inside the 10-yard line.

The offense was faced with a third-and-2 from the 3-yard line, but Brady’s pass to Rob Gronkowski feel incomplete. That’s when Gostkowski hit the 21-yard field goal at 14:14 of the second quarter.

Bills take early lead

The Patriots third-down defense looks to be an issue again.

The Bills have taken a 3-0 lead following a 41-yard field goal by Stephen Hauschka. Buffalo was able to get down the field in part thanks to converting on third down.

The Bills started this drive going 4-for-4 on third down. On third-and-1, LeSean McCoy ran for a gain of nine. On third-and-2, Tyrod Taylor hit Kelvin Benjamin for two yards. Then on third-and-4, Taylor scrambled for six yards.

Finally, on third-and-11, the Patriots got their first third-down stop thanks to a Deatrich Wise sack. That’s when Buffalo took the first lead of the game, getting the field goal at 5:30 of the first quarter.
