The Green Bay Packers are looking to continue their aerial assault going into 2023. Over the last 31 years, the Packers have had Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers under center. This has resulted in a consistent threat through the air. They are hoping that Jordan Love can continue that trend going forward. While the Packers have a number of young talented weapons at Love’s disposal, adding a veteran to the mix couldn’t hurt.
Las Vegas Raiders Wide Receiver Hunter Renfrow Has Been Rumored To Be A Trade Candidate All Off-Season (NFL)
Trade rumors have circulated all off-season about Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow. With the combination of the Raiders signing Jakobi Meyers to a three-year, $33 million deal during free agency and the club saving about $11.3 million in cap space by trading Renfrow after June 1, the speculation is warranted.
The Las Vegas Raiders gave wide receiver Hunter Renfrow a two-year, $22.3 million extension in 2022. While the extension was granted by current general manager Dave Ziegler, Renfrow is a product of the former regime. Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels have spent the early stages of 2023 moving on from the previous regime’s players and adding foundational pieces for “their team.”
Green Bay Packers Land Hunter Renfrow From The Las Vegas Raiders In Proposed Deal
Renfrow was a fifth-round pick by the Raiders in 2019. In 2021, he became the first Raiders receiver to record over 1,000 receiving yards in a season since 2016 and just the third player in franchise history to record 100-plus receptions in a single season. He also became just the second wide receiver in Raiders history to record both 100-plus receptions and 1,000-plus receiving yards in a single season.
However, in 2022 Renfrow was limited to 10 games due to injuries. He finished with 36 catches for 330 yards and two touchdowns. This could be the ultimate “buy low” scenario for the Green Bay Packers due to the veteran coming off a sub-par season. Our proposed trade would look like this:

Renfrow has proven himself as one of the better route runners in the entire NFL. Davante Adams has even commented on how impressive his route running ability is. Brining in that type of talent could be like another coach in the wide receivers room.
