ATLANTA - The Spurs left San Antonio on Sunday hopeful that Kawhi Leonard would be able to play back-to-back games for the first time this season.
But that won't be the case after the club made him a late scratch before Monday afternoon's game against the Hawks due return from injury management.
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said in his pre-game session with reporters that Leonard would be a game-time decision due to a leg issue. He missed the first 27 games of the season while rehabbing a quadriceps injury.
Leonard finished Saturday night's 112-80 win over Denver with 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four steals and one block in 28 minutes. It was his first game back after missing three games with an injured shoulder.
