The University of San Diego’s men’s basketball coach was arrested at the Oakland Airport Sunday on domestic violence charges, 10 news of San Diego reported.

Lamont Smith was taken into custody before the Toreros boarded a team flight back to San Diego Sunday after closing the regular season with a 64-61 win at the University of San Francisco Saturday night.

According to 10News, the 42-year-old Smith faces charges for “domestic violence, assault with force likely to commit great bodily injury and false imprisonment” after an incident at the team’s hotel near Union Square in San Francisco late Saturday night. Officers were called to the hotel and a woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim reportedly told authorities she was intimately involved with Smith, a married father of two.

San Diego told 10News it was aware of the report concerning Smith and it would begin conducting an investigation into the matter.
