ATLANTA -- Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry, who exited Game 3 with a left hamstring strain, will not play in Game 4 of their first round series against the Hawks, the team announced.

"You have to be smart about it," said Heat coach Erik Spoelstra. "The training staff determined that he wasn't going to play tonight and we have everybody else available and that's what we're focused on right now."

Spoelstra, who did not name a starter in Lowry's place during his pregame availability, gave the nod to third-year guard Gabe Vincent.

Lowry is considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday's Game 5 in Miami.

On the other side of the ball, Hawks coach Nate McMillan made Atlanta center Clint Capela -- who has missed the entire series to this point with a hyperextended right knee suffered in the play-in tournament -- available for Game 4 after earlier saying he would be a game-time decision.

Miami, the East's No. 1 seed, leads the No. 8-seed Hawks 2-1 in their best-of-seven series.
