SAN FRANCISCO — Draymond Green could be facing disciplinary actions following a reported squabble with Jordan Poole at Wednesday’s practice.

A heated argument between Poole and Green allegedly turned physical with both players pushing and shoving each other, The Athletic reported. Green, 32, is accused of hitting the 23-year-old guard before the two were separated.

The Warriors had to stop practice and tried to calm the situation in the team’s locker room. Green is reportedly facing internal disciplinary actions for striking Poole.

The Warriors declined to comment on the report. They’re scheduled to practice Thursday at Chase Center.

There appeared to have been some tension rising between Green and Poole, who got into a verbal altercation during a Nov. 10 game near the Warriors’ bench last season. Green on the most recent episode of his podcast, The Draymond Green Show, said he enjoyed watching Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry beat Poole and Moses Moody in the 3-point shooting contest in Japan last weekend.

“Like Klay said, I absolutely loved watching them humble JP, Jordan Poole that is, that was fun,” Green said on his podcast. “And then Jordan Poole tried to take the passive aggressive route, like ‘Oh, they only the best shooters in the world.’ But you weren’t talking like that before JP, so that was absolutely good to see and that was an incredible night.”

Andre Iguodala defended Poole’s character on Twitter Wednesday night, after there was a report indicating Poole had been acting differently as his camp and the team negotiate a potential extension.

“What we not gone do is talk crazy about my young fella JP… great character kid,” Iguodala tweeted.

This isn’t the first time Green’s emotions has gotten him into trouble.

Of course, there was the $25,000 fine for flipping off the crowd in Memphis during the playoffs last season, a series that also saw him ejected one game prior after it appeared he pulled on the collar of Brandon Clarke as he went for a basket. Green also previously admitted that his actions likely cost the Warriors the title in 2016 when he was suspended for a scuffle with LeBron James.

Green has also had some other in-house incidents. He got into an altercation with Kevin Durant during the 2018 season and was suspended in 2016 for nearly coming to blows with coach Steve Kerr.
