The Orange are coming off their first ACC win of the 2023-24 season after beating the Pittsburgh Panthers 81-73 on Saturday, improving to 1-1 in the conference, and 10-3 for the season so far. Syracuse roared back from a 38-30 halftime deficit to outscore the Panthers 51-35 in the second half of the game.
Quadir Copeland posted a career day, with 22 points that were a crucial piece of the huge bench boost that propelled the Orange to the win. Benny Williams and Maliq Brown each put up another 15 points a piece adding 52 total from Syracuse’s reserves.
The showdown with Duke will look more different than ever, with legendary head coaches Jim Boeheim and Mike Krzyzewski both entering retirement, being replaced by Adrian Autry and Jon Scheyer, respectively. Duke has achieved a 9-3 record so far this season, and will look for its first ACC win of the year in the game against Syracuse. The Blue Devils are currently 0-1 in the conference after a loss to Georgia Tech earlier in the season.
