Filipe Luis is in the Spanish capital and is now just waiting for the final details of his move back to Atlético Madrid to be resolved. Atleti’s president, Cerezo said yesterday that, “his signing is imminent” and hopes to make the deal official in the next few hours. Chlesea coach, Mourinho also reflected on the Brazilian defenders imminent departure from Stamford Bridge, “It’s obvious that we need to buy a left back as Felipe Luis is on his way”.
The left back is set to re-join Simeone after a disappointing season in the English Premier League. The Spanish club will pay 16 million euro for his services (a three year contract) after selling him just last year to the English side for 22 million.
During his season in London, Filipe Luis struggled to break through into the Chelsea starting XI with Jose Mourinho preferring to select César Azpilicueta ahead of the Brazilian.
