Rayo Vallecano made official Manucho’s two year contract extension which will see the Angolan international play at Vallecas through to 2017. Last season Manucho was a key player for Rayo coach, Jemez, and the forward participated in every league game bar one (when he was suspended) scoring five goals in the process. The former Manchester United player has also won over the Rayo faithful with his determined approach to every game. Rayo sporting director, Felipe Miñambres confirmed the news in a press conference but claimed that due to the complication surrounding visas, it’s unlikely that Manucho will depart with the rest of the Rayo squad as they leave for China on Sunday.
Rayo play Real Sociedad in Nanjing, China on the 29th as part of a promotional event held by the sponsors of both LaLiga clubs, QBao.com.
