FC Porto arrived in Germany last night ahead of their friendly against historic Bundesliga side, Borussia Monchengladbach.
Iker Casillas' presence in goal for the Portuguese Liga Nos side has generated huge interest in his native Spain with Television Española securing the rights for the friendly. As the squad left Francisco Sá Carneira airport, the goalkeeper was the focal point of the Portuguese squad with a legion of fans looking for photographs with the Spaniard. Upon arrival in Germany, the delegation were greeted by a group of FC Porto fans who chanted the goalkeepers name along with those of Tello, Aboubakar and Helton.
Casillas is set to play for the Portuguese team after making his debut in last weekend’s friendly against MSV Duisburg. Lopetegui has brought a squad of 26 players to Germany but was forced to leave Imbula, Martins Indi and Brahimi behind with niggles. Porto are set to play a further pre-season friendly next Monday, once again they will face Bundesliga opposition in Schalke 04.
