ESPN FC have spent the past few days gradually going through a rundown of the 50 most influential people in football at present. The list has been complied by editors and global writers for ESPN. UEFA head, Michel Platini, has been chosen as the most influential individual in world football according to the results of the survey.

Jorge Mendes, agent of Cristiano Ronaldo amongst other high profile players is in second position. The Portuguese representative owns the GestiFute Company as well as overseeing an impressive portfolio of top players that have included moves in 2014 for the likes of: Di María, Falcao, Diego Costa or Mangala. Mendes also oversees the affairs of Mourinho, James, Agüero and Thiago Silva.

President of the English Premier League, Richard Scudamore, is in third place. Earlier in 2015, Scudamore oversaw a TV deal for the league which saw BT Sport and Sky Sports pay a a fee of 6.920 million euro (an increase of 70% from the previous deal) for rights to Premier League football from 2016-2019.

Bayern Munich president, Karl Heinz Rummenige is in fourth place and precedes the first player on the list. Barça player, Lionel Messi earns 41.7 million euro annually via his club deal. Florentino Pérez, Real Madrid president is the first Spaniard on the list in sixth place
