Real Madrid have completed the signing of Real Zaragoza centre-back Jesús Vallejo. The deal was signed off on Friday morning and Madrid will pay €5 million for the Spain U19s captain, one less than his release clause. In addition, they will pay €1 million for young goalkeeper Darío Ramos as part of the deal.
As expected, Vallejo will continue at Zaragoza on loan for next season and in the summer of 2016 he will join up with Madrid.
Despite his age, Vallejo has become a leader at Zaragoza. Madrid value his abilities as a leader and on a personal level, playing with the captain's armband at just 18 years of age. Madrid first showed interest in the defender a year ago when he broke into the Zaragoza first team but made no move for him at the time.
In addition, he has already made his debut with Spain U21s in a match against Norway and was selected in the 'Team of the Year' in the second division for his performances last season.
