Neymar will miss Brazil’s game against Venezuela and also the quarter final match, assuming that Dunga’s side make it through to that stage.
The Copa America website stated that, in line with Conmebol: a player will be automatically suspended for the next game in the competition for picking up two yellow cards in different matches. If a player is found guilty of a serious anti-sporting behavior and is removed from the field of play (through the issuing of a red card), then all previous cards still retain their validity.
After receiving two yellow cards prior to his straight red, Neymar will have to wait until the tournament’s disciplinary tribunal meet later this week and will then discover if his sanction is to be extended beyond the quarter final of the 2015 Copa America.
