Neymar complained post-match about the harsh treatment he feels he’s receiving from referees at this year’s Copa America tournament.
"They’re using the rules against me excessively ", he added after his Brazil side was beaten by Colombia in Santiago.
Before the break in last night’s game, the Barça player picked up a yellow card for a handball. In Sunday’s opener for Brazil against Peru he was booked for moving the free-kick spray. These two yellows would lead to an automatic one match ban.
“The ball hit my hand unintentionally and I picked up a booking. I’d say that is a weak referee", he stated in reference to last night’s official, Chilean Enrique Osses. The player was then red carded in the 96th minute of the game following a skirmish with other Colombian players.
"There was general confusion and certainly no need to send everyone off. I was shoved. I didn’t see the red card, these are things that happen", he added.
Neymar admitted that he played poorly against Colombia: "I admit that we didn’t play well and I take my share of the responsibility".
