Dunga was blunt and serious in answers to questions from the press regarding Neymar’s four-match ban. The decision from CONMEBOL will see him miss the rest of the Copa América pending appeal. The Brazil coach referred to the severity of the suspension: “Neymar is a huge figure in football and for him the sanctions are also very big. Now we have to find solutions for the team without Neymar.”
Asked about whether Neymar showed too much attitude on the pitch, Dunga defended his player: “Neymar was kicked more than 20 times and was then shown a yellow card for something he did while he was off-balance. We want the best spectacle possible and we don't defend the best players .We have one more training session and we have options.”
Finally, the Brazil coach threw a dart at Neymar with regards to him remaining with the squad to support the team given that he can no longer play. “It depends on what he wants to do. We need and want men to take the decisions, not children.”
