The contract renewal negotiations between Real Madrid and Sergio Ramos ground to a halt several months ago and Manchester United want to take advantage of the situation to give the centre-back what he is looking for at the Bernabéu. According to the Daily Star, United boss Louis van Gaal believes Madrid president Florentino Pérez will not pay the €14m salary that the Madrid centre-back wants and the English club are prepared to fork out €37m to sign him.
The lack of communication between Madrid and the player is something that has been recognised, openly, by the player’s brother and agent René Ramos: “He still has two years on his contract. We are waiting for a call from the club, but we still do not know anything. There are no conversations.”
Ramos has always expressed his desire to end his career at Madrid, but time is passing and the club have not been in touch. Therefore, René started to consider the possibility of looking for an alternative.
“Two years of contract remain. Maybe it would be better not to finish his career at Real Madrid and [instead] do so at another club. You never know,” he is quoted as saying in the British newspaper.
In any case, René knows that football is ever changing and Ramos’ renovation could be resolved tomorrow.
“Football changes very quickly, so you have to enjoy every moment.”
