Louis Van Gaal spoke to Spanish TV channel Cuatro by telephone from his home in Holland. However, he was unwilling to broach the subject of David De Gea's potential move to Real Madrid. When asked about the situation the Dutch coach was clearly angered by the question, although he did insist “I don’t have a problem”.
Van Gaal added: “I don’t want to discuss the issue through the media. I will speak with my directors, not with the media. I don’t have a problem.”
Manchester United are asking for 46 million euros for De Gea, who has one year left on his contract and wants a move away from the Premier League club. Real Madrid are also trying to factor Sergio Ramos in the deal. The centre-back from Andalusia has made it known he wants to leave Los Blancos, although he still has two years left on his contract and the significant hurdle in the form of a €200m release clause.
