Real Madrid’s, Cristiano Ronaldo announced earlier today that Mint Media has acquired the image rights for the Portuguese player. Mint is owned by Peter Lim, who is also maximum shareholder at Valencia CF.
Cristiano added that he hoped the deal would boost the Cristiano Ronaldo brand, especially in the Asian market.
“I am very excited to announce my latest deal with Mint Media, owned by my good friend, businessman Peter Lim from Singapore, to acquire my image rights. This is a very strategic move for me and my management team to take the Cristiano Ronaldo brand to the next level, especially in Asia”.
Jorge Mendes, close friend and assessor to the Singaporean mufti-millionaire is also the player from Madeira’s representative.
The player’s image rights were a key negotiation point in his last Real Madrid contract extension in 2013, when both sides agreed a deal which runs through to 2018 and saw the player retain more than 50% of these rights.
