Speculation is growing in Italy that José Callejón is set for a move back to LaLiga and that the Vicente Calderon is the likely destination for the player. Mediaset report that his agent, Manuel García Quilón is on his way to Naples to negotiate terms of the deal with the Serie A club president, De Laurentis. The intention is to convince the Italian club to reduce their asking price for the Spaniard; they are currently looking to secure a price of between 20 and 25 million euro for the player’s services. Atlético are prepared to offer just 15 million for Callejon’s signature.
There is a degree of urgency in the Calderón offices to secure the projected new signings with a return to pre-season imminent. The LaLiga club is hoping to secure a center back and two midfielders to compensate for the departure of Arda Turan. Belgian player Carrasco (currently with AS Mónaco) is a likely candidate as the negotiations with Benfica for Gaitán have hit an impasse.
