Garbiñe Muruguza has become the first Spaniard (since Arantxa Sánchez Vicario in 1996) to reach the Wimbledon ladies’ final in 19 years after seeing off the Polish tennis player Agnieszka Radwanska 6-2 3-6 6-3 on Centre Court in one hour and 57 minutes.

Muguruza spoke after the match: “I don't have words to explain it. I worked all my life to achieve this moment. I think I was playing really well so I had to stay calm and keep a poker face.

"I knew it was going to be tough. I was nervous in the second set. She has a lot of experience and I had to fight."

Muguruza will face the winner of the semi-final clash between Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova in the final.
